About

The aims of this website are to provide the following:

  • Tips on how the life of university students with diabetes can be improved

  • Information about diabetes-related topics with a practical and academic approach

  • Provide information for universities who want to better support their students with diabetes

Diabetes at University is created by a professor working at a British university.

First things to do

When you are at university, here is what you should do as soon as possible

  • Sign up with a local medical practise, ideally on campus

  • Make sure you register with a local dentist, because your gum health is important

  • Contact the specialist diabetes care team, just let them know you are now in the new town

  • Inform your personal tutor that you have diabetes. Ask what support the university has for you.

  • Let your flatmates/roommates and friends always know.
